Lo que debes saber

For first-time applicants, anyone who does not qualify for renewal by mail, and all children under 16. Application must be filed in person at a passport acceptance facility or passport agency.

  Proof of U.S. citizenship

  One of: a U.S. birth certificate, a full-validity undamaged U.S. passport, a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, or a Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship. Must be a physical, paper document; digital or mobile evidence is not accepted.

  Physical photo ID

  A fully valid driver's license or enhanced driver's license with photo is the most commonly accepted ID. Bring a second photo ID if your ID is from a different state than the one you are applying in.

  Photocopies of your citizenship evidence and photo ID

  A photocopy of your citizenship evidence, and a photocopy of the front and back of your photo ID.

  Completed Form DS-11

  Print single-sided; the form is not accepted double-sided. Sign it in front of the acceptance agent, not before.
