The Farm Service Agency, called FSA, sends notices about farm loans, including a notice of loan default or a demand for payment. Crop insurance claims run on their own short clock. Many policies require you to report a loss within 72 hours of when you first notice damage. The letter has your real deadline. FSA, your crop insurance agent, or the lender decides your case.
