Medicaid coverage in Idaho
Idaho Medicaid is changing how it works. In March 2025, state lawmakers passed a law moving Idaho Medicaid from the current system to a managed care system, where you would pick a private health plan. This change has not happened yet.
The switch to managed care has been delayed. Idaho now expects the change to start January 1, 2030. Right now, Idaho Medicaid pays your doctors and other providers directly. There is no private health plan to pick yet.
