What this notice usually means
Form 20-0995 is one of three VA appeal options. You file it to add new evidence after a denial or a rating you disagree with. The VA reviews the case again using that new evidence.
What to do now
- 1
Read your denial or rating decision first
Find the specific reason the VA gave. Your new evidence should relate directly to that reason.
- 2
Gather new and relevant evidence
Collect medical records, statements, or other proof. It should be new, not already in your VA file.
- 3
File Form 20-0995 through a listed channel
Submit the form online, by mail, or in person, along with your new evidence.
- 4
Call the VA or a veterans service officer
Call the VA at 1-800-827-1000, or ask a local veterans service officer for free help.
