What this notice usually means

The NOMNC tells you Medicare covered services are ending soon. A provider gives it at least two days before the last covered day. It explains how to ask for a fast appeal to keep services going.

What to do now

  1. 1

Read the last covered day on your notice

Your NOMNC states the date services are set to end. Note that date first.

  2. 2

Decide quickly if you want a fast appeal

A fast appeal usually must be requested by noon of the day before services end. Act as soon as you get the notice.

  3. 3

Call the number on your notice to appeal

Your NOMNC lists the phone number for the review organization that handles fast appeals.

  4. 4

Ask your provider for the Detailed Explanation of Non-Coverage

Once you request a fast appeal, your provider must give you a detailed notice. It explains the specific reasons services are ending.
