What this notice usually means
Pennsylvania mails Medicaid and CHIP renewals in a bright pink envelope. A benefit notice follows once the state finishes the renewal. That letter says whether coverage was renewed or closed.
What to do now
- 1
Watch for the pink envelope
Pennsylvania DHS uses a bright pink envelope for renewal packets. This makes them easy to spot in the mail.
- 2
Fill in the household information requested
Answer every question on the packet. This helps your benefits get reviewed correctly.
- 3
Send the packet back through a listed channel
Return it online through COMPASS, by mail, or in person, using the address on your own packet.
- 4
Watch for the benefit notice
After you respond, Pennsylvania DHS sends a benefit notice. It states if coverage was renewed or closed.
Plainly can build this list with you, using your own letter. Start with my letter
“LOOK FOR THE PINK ENVELOPE! DHS has made it even easier to recognize the arrival of your benefit renewal packet. Simply watch for a large PINK envelope ... The benefit notice is an official notice letting MA and CHIP recipients know the eligibility result of their processed renewal.”
