What this notice usually means
A Data Matching Issue notice means something on your Marketplace application does not match trusted government records. This could be your income or your immigration status. The Marketplace sends this as one of a family of 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day Warning Notices. It usually names the document to send and the date it is due. The Marketplace reviews what you send and decides the outcome.
What to do now
- 1
Find the deadline printed on your notice
Your notice states an exact number of days to send documents, counted from the date on the letter. Find that date on your own copy.
- 2
Gather exactly what the notice lists
The notice names the specific document it needs, such as a pay stub, a citizenship record, or an immigration document. Send only what your own notice asks for.
- 3
Upload or mail the documents through the listed channel
Most Marketplace accounts let you upload documents online. You can also mail copies to the address printed on your notice.
- 4
Call the Marketplace if you need more time or have questions
Call the Marketplace Call Center at 1-800-318-2596 (TTY 1-855-889-4325) if you are missing a document or the notice is unclear.
Plainly can build this list with you, using your own letter. Start with my letter
HealthCare.gov states that a Marketplace applicant can get up to 90 days to confirm information that does not match the government's records. Your own notice has the exact number of days and the due date. That date on your notice controls, not this page.
“90 days to confirm information that doesn't match our records, like your household income”
